Deep Knowledge (INTELLECTUAL QUALITY Dimension)
This evidence shows students rotating through multiple investigation stations (ramp and car, Newton’s cradle, magnets and iron filings, ball movement, and domino chain reaction). Students worked in pairs to observe energy transformations, record observations, and identify energy forms involved. The stations provided varied physical contexts for the same core concept, allowing students to observe repeated patterns of energy transfer and transformation across systems.
Video Snippet: Developing students' Deep knowledge in action during experimental activity in stations. Students explored various energy transformations using everyday objects
Completed Worksheets during the experimental activity demonstrating Deep Knowledge
This evidence shows students completing the exit ticket task where they were asked to choose 2–3 everyday items and demonstrate how energy changes from one form to another using an energy transformation sequence diagram (→). Students selected their own objects, constructed a transformation pathway, and labelled the energy forms involved. This task required students to independently apply the core concept of energy transformation by sequencing changes accurately and representing them symbolically, demonstrating individual conceptual understanding beyond guided activity.
